Use this page as a directory to find your way around the Fringe Open map for July-August 2021. With some activity as one-offs; independent & assisted exhibitions; durational works which launch from the start of the Triennial period; community-engaged works where progress can be watched; workshops; encounters; and must-see stop-offs for your visit to Folkestone - there really is something for everyone.
The Fringe Open programming is constantly evolving, for the most up-to-date listing of events, come back to this page every time you need a reminder. You can also keep up to date through our weekly newsletter and across our social media channels. Additionally, if you're out & about in town, look out for the "Sub-Plot" stickers on the windows of businesses/spaces/locations from this week to follow the map that way.

Fringe Open is officially Open for all...and is the “Sub-Plot” to the biggest of all Plots.
Fringe Open is the central platform for everybody planning creative activity during the Triennial. We offer a helping hand to all individuals and collectives to develop and express their creativity, no matter their age, background or experience - taking advantage of the excitement stimulated by the Triennial period.
We want to encourage you to join in the fun and activity that takes over the town during the Folkestone Triennial. To do this - we will support you in showing your work, by helping you make connections; with timetabling; liaising with councils/permissions; with production queries; & with marketing.
Think this could be an avenue for you? You're welcome to still email us on [email protected] with your plans if you’d like to share your work, event, exhibitions, or activities anytime, & we'll try our best to get back to you.
