Always wanted to play your part in International Women's day but don't seem to know how?
From 26 Feb -10 Mar 2019, Folkestone will celebrate both through and beyond #girlpower. Folkestone Women's Forum, Women UnLTD, Folkestone Quarterhouse, and Folkestone Fringe present a programme of events to mark International Women's Day 2019. From films, talks, workshops, an exhibition, to a female beat disco and pop-up cafe- this programme will truly highlight the diverse spectrum of intersectional practice and thinking towards what it means for women to rise.
Women Rising Festival celebrating International Women’s Day is co-curated by Folkestone’s Women’s Forum, Leah Thorn, Women UnLTD, and supported by Folkestone Quarterhouse, & Folkestone Fringe. Folkestone’s Women’s Forum hosts events, workshops & speakers for Folkestone & its communities. Women UnLTD does similar and is run from Birmingham by women in the creative and marketing industry. Folkestone Quarterhouse is the hub to Creative Folkestone, as well as a major event space and venue for our town. We do these festivals to enrich the cultural calendar of our town, bring people together, and connect Folkestone with the wider world.
