Returning for its third year, SALT Festival of the Sea and Environment took those involved on a creative and inspiring journey through the landscape and culture of the coast around Folkestone. There were opportunities to walk, talk, make, write, observe, have fun and share ideas over good food in the great outdoors. SALT is co-curated by Folkestone Quarterhouse and Folkestone Fringe, with ideas gathered from the local community. In 2018 this year, we collaborated with The Ash Project; Creative Europe’s Magic Carpets programme; and Guardians of the Deep, as well as taking part in the 50th anniversary of the Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
