We are beyond thrilled to announce that Profound Sound is back. In collaboration with our friends at Hot Salvation Records & Phantom Limb, our sixth instalment of Folkestone’s experimental sound & music festival will take place in the spring of 2022. Profound Sound continues to platform local and international experimental sonic talent, inspiring and creating opportunities within the town, and provoking with the intent to bring about collective joy through immersion in music.
This year’s edition will feature bold and highly anticipated headline acts from national and international artists, alongside plans that include intimate, DIY-esque workshops, performances, DJ sets, and audio-visual installations & trails, that both engage and playfully interact with our town and with those visiting and residing within it. Our weekend programme of headline shows - tickets for which are available to purchase NOW - will not only blow your mind because of the spectrum of variety, but because collectively, they represent the soundtrack to what we should all be experiencing as sentient beings…living, listening and learning in 2022.
We’re switching things up a bit this year by extending the opportunity to experience diverse forms of music & sound art - and the community togetherness that comes with it - from starting in April through to the months beyond. Additional activities & events will be announced soon, so keep your eyes & ears peeled.

Profound Sound 22 (April Edition) is all about bringing together Folkestone’s community to experience the joy of live music and performance in a collective way, and the April weekender felt more unified, immersive, and inspiring than ever.
Thank you to all of the wonderful people who came and got involved, those who were familiar with experimental sound, and those who opened themselves up to experiencing something different.
Thank you to the incredible artists who allowed the weekend to be as fantastic as it was, we are still well and truly blown away.
All of the events and performances dotted throughout Friday and Saturday in various spaces across Folkestone truly allowed it be something for the community - to find elation, expression, inspiration and reflection communally.
A massive thank you to our amazing partners and collaborators, the magic that was this year’s Profound Sound would not be possible without you all.
