Ghostly ambient black metal which evokes an ethereal sense of place from which the project aptly takes its name. This is a solitary march through a sonic landscape. A pastoral wilderness relinquishing whispers of a dark past through a series of well-crafted compositions. Bleak, beautiful, haunting and elusive.
Bathe in the neo-medieval soundscapes of rhythmic battle marches; atmospheric odes; and wistful movements as layers of analogue tape and Nordic instruments meet digital methods of composition, including samplers, synthesisers, and drum machines. Crusade through two brand new compositions as Gladden Fields journeys through mystic lands, experimenting with tones ranging from dark-ambient to fantasy-folk, drawing inspiration from the likes of J.R.R Tolkien; the dark and complicated etchings of eighteenth-century Spanish artist, Francisco Goya; and the history and landscape of historical Kent.
Gladden Fields is the one man project of Folkestone based Avant-Garde composer Reece Thomas.
