Past Present Future Exhibition

Do you own or have you snapped a favourite photo of Folkestone?

For an exhibition Folkestone: Past, Present and Future, residents, visitors and businesses are invited to dig out those favourites, particularly if they feature Sandgate Road, Guildhall Street, Rendezvous Street and Bouverie Square.

If they are prints or maybe stuck on a roll of film then bring them along to the Nik &Trick photography shop in The Old High Street on Thursday 19 September or Saturday 21 September 2024.

The experts will digitise the photos free of charge by scanning them and develop any rolls of film and the results may become part of the exhibition on 11th and 12th October.

The project is part of the Folke About Town series of town centre events and the exhibition will offer reflections on historical Folkestone as well as looking forward to the town’s future.

Cllr Rich Holgate, F&HDC Cabinet member for the District Economy said: “I’m sure many people have got some fabulous photos tucked away or on their walls. They maybe feature former buildings or gatherings in times gone past.

“Bring them along to share and help celebrate the town by seeing them featured in the exhibition next month.”

It is important that you have permission from the photographer to submit a photo for the exhibition. Up to five photographs can be digitised per person and one roll of film.

Any prints taken in for scanning will be returned and you will also be offered a digitised version.
