Are you a musician, music teacher, music therapist, spoken word artist, electronic artist or dancer who is uncomfortable improvising but want to give it a go? Join singer, cabaret artist and composer Anna Braithwaite for a workshop for women ( trans & non-binary inclusive) who think they can’t improvise.
Anna wants to address the underrepresentation of women in musical improvisation & composition by encouraging women already working in music (spoken word, electronics and dance) to take the plunge into improvisation, unlocking their potential as creators. She will lead exercises in confidence-building and ‘listening’ with a focus on experimental performance. Bring your tools and instruments for this practical session.
’Free Women’ offers performers who are women (trans & non binary inclusive) an opportunity to meet potential collaborators, expand their professional network, enhance their skills and reignite their passion for music-making/creation.
