Still Sick of It - Fourth Wall Folkestone

Still Sick of It is a multidisciplinary series of talks, exhibitions and workshops exploring Women’s Health and diet culture.

#Exhibition #Workshop #Talk

Date: Tuesday 2nd September - Sunday 12th October
Opening Times: See the description below
Location: 10-12 The Old High Street CT20 1RL

We’re STILL SICK OF IT! Sick of fatphobia, body shaming, diet culture, narrow beauty standards, inequalities in healthcare, fat being equated to unhealthiness, shrinking ourselves for others, food policing, being asked when we’re going to have kids and much more….

Exhibitions & events include:

The Body Room - Katherine Brown & Emma Shapiro: 2-14
The Body Room is a radical self-care art project founded on feminist principles. We enable our guests to enter into a dialogue with their own body on their own terms, in contrast to those that society conventionally imposes on our bodies.

Ageing Without Children: Informal Roundtable: 6 Sep
Join Penny Shepherd (Ageing Without Children East Kent) and Abigail Levitt (Solo Sisters) for this informal roundtable discussion chaired by Sarah Lloyd (Fourth Wall Folkestone).

Embodied - Madi Strong: 15-28 Sep
Embodied is an exploration of women’s embodied experience in clay and connection, through exhibition, reflection and workshops. Open to all women, shared with all people.

Everybody: A Community Life Drawing Celebration - Laura J Brown & + The Everybody Life Drawing Circle Artists: 3-5 Oct
Featuring sketches from first-time artists to seasoned practitioners, the show reflects the beauty and complexity of diverse bodies often absent from traditional art spaces.

Bodies Change! A Community Clothes Swap - Kirstyn Brook & Odd Socks Folkestone: 8 -12 Oct
Clothes stop fitting for so many reasons. This means items you once loved no longer work. We run this clothes swap to help people let go of stuff that no longer works and find stuff that does.
