Sam Bailey is an improvising pianist, composer, teacher and promoter-curator specialising in collaborative performance. He runs the Free Range series of experimental music, film and poetry events in Canterbury, Kent and he led the site specific Piano in the Woods project. For this solo performance Sam will be using two upright pianos: one functional and one wreck. They will be played simultaneously and, as the wreck is detuned and affected by objects placed between the strings, the audience will hear one of the pianos being slowly destroyed.
