A photo-performative project Red And Free aims to explore free movement and connection with the environment, a visual anonymity that paradoxically allows one to express themrself more fully, being freed from the obligation to look a certain way, and to manifest the childlike, magical, joyful, wildlife part of oneself.

Shooting at several open locations in Folkestone and by the sea, I suggest covering upside down with a red cloak, removing the recognisability of body, face and clothing, and listen to your body - how do you want to exist these minutes, being a red dot in that space?

My name is Victoria Dini and I am an artist working with photography, writing and performative practics. I was born in Moldova, raised in Russia, was granted with a Global Talent visa by Arts Council England from 2023 live and work in the UK — in London and then in Folkestone, Kent.

My photographs have been exhibited in St. Petersburg, Rome, Brussels, London, Kent and Suffolk, printed on magazine covers, and exist as books. In my approach I combine documentary, magic and conceptual practices. Art for me is a ritual, a way of revealing something that wants to be revealed.
