Join Mel Wrigley & Marcelo Moscheta for a walk along the chalk ridgeway above Folkestone, ending at the Warren. You will be following similar footsteps of our prehistoric ancestors, along a landscape which may predate the channel. Enjoy far reaching views, hear about the chalk landscape, plants, animals and the humans that share the land. Hear about Marcelo’s months stay in Folkestone, how he works as an artist and see his sculpture in chalk at the Warren.
10+ years must be with an adult
We highly advise you to catch the 16 bus from Folkestone bus station and stop at Alkham Valley Corner (just after the turning to Crete Road West). The walk does not loop therefore it is useful to not have to leave a car there! Walk will finish at the Warren. Bring water. Wear appropriate clothing.
Marcelo is in Folkestone as an artist on Magic Carpets, a Creative Europe platform uniting 14 European cultural organisations. Artists embark on residencies abroad, engaging with local artists and communities to create new work which highlights local particularities.
Unfortunately due to the terrain this event is unsuitable for wheelchair users. For SALT + EARTH 2024 we aim to change this. For any other accessibility queries please contact [email protected]
