Melancholaoke is a collection of works excavated from the place where pop music, art and longing intersect. Melancholaoke is an exploration of various things melancholic and abject. It taps into the bittersweet sensibilities of heartbroken pop stars and the unrequited loves of their fans. All this heartache is soused in a liberal lashing of dark humour, which is located right at the blackest end of the comic spectrum.
Audiences to Melancholaoke will be invited to sing gloomy songs from the customised Melancholake menu, and will be fortified in their efforts with dark snacks.
