Wild Car (from the Welsh Car Gwyllt) is an improvised device; part camera dolly, part ride-on rail vehicle. This year artist Graeme Miller made his own journey –a winterreise – on it from the north of Denmark to the south of Sardinia capturing the European landscapes strung along narrow-gauge railways as they lie in anticipation of Brexit. The captured footage forms the basis of this performance lecture that invites an audience into the field of its uncanny floating imagery. Artist and composer, Miller shares this as conductor and accompanist inviting dreamlike attention and reverie.
