PHOTOGRAPHIC SCORES FOR LIGHTHOUSE
Jez riley French | Sound & Photography
Site: Domestic Lighthouses in South Korea & Japan

The essential uniqueness of moments fascinates me....capturing them using conventional and extended field recording techniques is more to do with intuition than technical skill and every aspect of the specific time plays its part...

My original ideas for the locations to be explored for this piece changed due to events in japan, but within this alteration I found myself closer to the creative instinct that I have....in that respect the moment etched itself into the piece at a different level....

The resulting audio piece and accompanying score / digital prints represent simple moments spent listening to houses of light - structures that hold or held light - beacons in both urban and rural environments....

To listen and not just hear is such a wide, open landscape....
