SMEATON'S TOWER PROJECT

Café Concrete | Installation & Sound
Site: Smeaton's Tower, Plymouth, Kent

24 candles illuminated the seminal Smeaton’s Tower, the third Eddystone Lighthouse.  24 Café Concrete sound and film artists have produce an array of interlocking works. The six films and additional 13 sound pieces use a sound library assembled from in and around the building. These explorations are linked to the structure's geometry of the tower and its innovative construction.

A live performance will also take place on the 26 September 2011 at the Voodoo Lounge, Plymouth to coincide with the British Art Show 07, time and location to follow.

Café Concrete is an experimental sound and film collective, event and record label, based in Plymouth. A central aim of Café Concrete’s collective is to investigate relationships between sound, place, space and architecture.
